How the Book Club Invitational is won and lost
Each team fields six pairs, with each pair facing one pair from the opposing team — producing six matches in total.
Each pair plays matchplay — holes are won, lost or halved rather than counting total strokes.
The best nett score on each hole wins that hole for the pair. Handicap strokes are applied per the stroke index.
The pair who wins the most holes wins the match. A match that is level after 18 holes is halved.
A match may be conceded early once one pair cannot mathematically be caught.
Each player competes in their own singles matchplay match against an opponent from the opposing team.
